Work on the Prelude
The groundbreaking project to create the first floating liquefied natural gas platform, not to mention the largest offshore facility ever constructed, is a mammoth project. Simian’s involvement has been varied, we’ve been involved in everything from providing classroom and practical on-site training as well as mentoring, scaffold inspection, supervision, 3rd party scaffolding audits and providing assistance to the TSC Scaffold – HSSE leads.
We’re proud to say that we have completed 3 million man hours on this project since the last recorded incident back in October 2014.
When construction has finished the completed platform will be located 120 miles off the coast of Australia and will be an impressive 488 metres long, 74 metres wide and made with more than 260,000 tonnes of steel.
