Case Study
Location – Dubai, UAE
Background
Growing demand in the UAE for professional scaffolding training and services led us to develop our centre in Dubai which opened at the beginning of 2011.
Our work in Dubai
Since it opened in January 2011 we have used our centre in Dubai as our worldwide hub. We now operate all our global services (outside Europe) from Dubai and Abu Dhabi and in addition to work in the UAE we have carried out work as far afield as China, Iraq, Australia and South Korea.
Our Dubai training centre is an extremely busy centre. Over the last five years we have trained more than 3000 scaffolders in CISRS, CITB and PASMA as well as delivering a number of bespoke courses designed specifically to meet the needs of our construction industry clients.
We have built such a reputation that scaffolders will travel to our centre in Dubai for training. For some clients we have included accommodation, interpreting services and transport as part of their package to enable their staff to come to Dubai and focus on their training.
The demand for training, which delivers the equivalent of UK health and safety standards, is growing in this part of the world. To ensure we can meet the high demand we have also opened two satellite PASMA centres, one in the Mall of Emirates with Khansaheb and one in the Hariyah shipyard with Lamprell.
Our work in Dubai is a great example of how we are really having an impact on standards of health and safety levels. The number of scaffolders trained to UK standards on our International Scaffolder and CISRS schemes is helping drive improvements in the scaffolding and work at height industry on a global scale.
