Who’s the course for?
Site supervisors and managers who are responsible for inspecting and checking complex/designed scaffolds for safe use and for signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations.
Course aims and benefits:
To develop in candidates an understanding of the appropriate safety regulations and the ability to interpret design specifications and statutory regulations when inspecting complex/designed scaffolding structures for faults.
Qualification/ certification:
CITB Certificate – Safe Inspection of Scaffold Complex.
The course will give candidates a thorough understanding of:
- Industry Best Practice
- Scaffolding components and terminology
- Basic Inspection revision
- Construction of complex/designed scaffolds to include:
- Interpretation of design drawings
- Staircase scaffolds
- Cantilever drop/truss out scaffolds
- Slung scaffolds
- Shoring
- Temporary building protection scaffolds
- Practical Inspection
- Reports
Training methods:
Practical inspections, Classroom/Tutorials.
Methods of assessment:
Practical assessment and theory exam.
Entry requirements:
Applicants must have completed the safe Inspection of Scaffolds course and have practical experience of inspecting scaffolds.
