Temporary and semi-permanent structures | A diagnostic, not a trap
Why this exists. This is not a pass-or-fail hurdle. It is a diagnostic. We want to understand how you think, where your strengths sit, and where we would focus your early training. Treat it as a professional conversation on paper. Answer honestly rather than perfectly; a well-reasoned "here is how I would find out" is worth more than a confident guess.
Time. A 120 minute window. The clock starts when you press Begin and records your completion time. You may research openly. Two hours is enough to look up what you do not know and reason through the rest, which is itself part of the test.
Open book, on your own. Use any reference you like, including the StageCo, Altrad and DESSA material and the web. Work alone. We are assessing your judgement, not your contacts.
How marks are valued
Accuracy first. Correct answers earn the points. A small time bonus (up to a few points) rewards finishing accurately and promptly, and only applies once you clear 50 percent accuracy, so there is no reward for rushing into wrong answers.
Two kinds of question. Most are marked automatically and show in your on-screen score. Questions flagged ASSESSOR are read and scored by us; those carry the most weight, because they show how you reason.
Read carefully. A few questions are written to test whether you read critically. The obvious answer is not always the right one.
Effort is seen. Creativity, initiative and thinking beyond the question are valued. A well-reasoned original approach earns more than a safe minimum answer, and genuine standout thinking can lift a strong candidate above the rest. If you have a better idea than the one asked for, show it.

The clock begins the moment you press Begin. There is no pause.
You can submit before the clock ends. Unanswered questions score zero.
